His retirement did come as a surprise to many, including me. My first response was, how come they( the selectors, the board) have asked him to quit? Is this all staged? Why him before laxman?
Then i read the papers the next day. After reading the excerpts from the press conference it became evident, it was his own decision. Nobody, forced him into it. I was amazed at people's reaction on hearing about his retirement. Everyone was sad, felt betrayed, angry also. But i felt so inspired. Felt good about it.
Here's my take on it. It was amazing to find a man, who has realized that his time has come. He is at peace with himself. Is ok with the normal civilian life he is about to live.He has reached that stage mentally where he isin't insecure about his future any more. Now, tell me how many of us would love to be in such a place!
felt sorry for the other two in the team, who haven't addressed their insecurities yet!
